I can’t suss out how to change the time on the freeview box after British Summertime ending and that’s annoying… yet, no more so than trying to get to Liverpool of late.

Since the derailment in the loop last week, traipsing to work via James Street, earlier than I’d choose, has been irksome.

And, I’m finally not paying emergency tax code, at last… and I’m going to be employed longer than I’d thought. Saying that, there are hints that my job is to change, yet again. Hmm… we’ll see.

The Joy's Of Computers

It's my day off. It's pouring down outside the centre in Bebington, where I used to work. It was raining all night. I'm off back to work to see about tax issues

I called in to visit VR and check out a few pages: but, as to my week.

My friend Karl had called round about 5:30 p.m. and left at 10:30 on Tuesday

Unfortunately, all his efforts were to no avail: Karl now says he’ll never work on an old machine again.

And, my boss at work was marvelous, helping me reacquire all that I’d thought I’d lost, including the Rock ‘n Rule soundtrack.

It transpires there was nothing wrong with the HDD at all: my motherboard is old and had had enough off recognizing a forty gig HDD slave in Windows XP when it can’t been seen in the bios.

Then on Friday, I finished my project at work, which had entailed finding someone to remove and guarantee the destruction of a lot of old mainframe tapes.

It’d been minor achievement, which had pleased me and then my printer decided to leak ink, like a very leaky thing; shortly after I’d configured what remains of my PC, now lower spec and higher memory.

To judge by the fact that there is a sponge inside the HP Deskjet 840c I would imagine leaks happen fairly often… and besides, what had been swimming inside had developed a reservoir of ink, with a skin on it, which suggested it’d been there awhile as it had nigh on set.

So, I set my Dad on it.

My Father’s one of those men who can do anything… even at the age he is… and now I’ll add cleaning printers to his list!

There is one minor source of annoyance though… my keyboard had gone American, which has finally been rectified.

Opposite me she sits

and a vee in her skirt

catches my eye, as she

crosses her legs and

I gaze at a nylon-clad thigh;

most pleasing to the eye.

Sentient awareness

We sat rambling, my friend and myself, as you do.

(See the new pics up)

And, as we did, one of us said ~

‘Is it useful to have sentient awareness of prescient foreknowledge and its occurrences within one’s life?’

My friend John is looking forward to telling his friends that he said it…

Not content with trying to cut the top of my finger off the other day, last Wednesday I’d had a fight with a steel door for a doctor’s surgery in a health centre.

(At least I was in the right place!)

And Man, you should see the bruise that’s come up now!
